“The Last Free Weekend of Your Life”

When my dad bought his first house my grandfather, Dzia Dzia, said:  Congratulations, son, there goes the last free weekend of your life.  He also said that he always wanted to live on Q Street so he wouldn’t have far to go to “P”.  🙂  That should explain where I get some of my humor.  I miss my Dzia.

My Dzia Dzia and my dad.

I know a little about what he was talking about.  Chris and I just bought our second home about a month ago.  Since that wonderful day, we have painted EVERY room in the house (but the kitchen and basement), had carpet installed, Chris learned how to lay tile, and more yard work then we were used to-way more.  Am I complaining?  Of course not!  Well maybe about the painting, a little.  That was a chore!  I wanted to share some of our progress.  I will be posting before and afters when we’re all “done”.  Of course I use the quotes because are we ever really done?

  1. Oh! Uncle Bob would be so proud! Great colors. Congrats on the house!

  2. What a beautiful family and blog!!!
I loved reading the journey the Lord has taken your family on. How awesome that your husband learned to lay tile, let me know (so I can let my husband know) if he hosts a seminar 🙂
